Emmanuel Umoru Haruna has
over 7 (Seven) years experience as a Senior Policy and
Research Analyst with
the Economic Growth Department, Federal Ministry of Budget and National
Planning, Abuja. Mr. Haruna designs, formulates, coordinates and evaluates
Nigeria's Government socioeconomics plans, policies and programme at the
Federal, States and Local Government levels. He hold a Bachelor of Science
(B.Sc) with honours in International Relations from the prestigious Ahmadu
Bello University-Zaria; and a Masters Degree in Economic Policy and Development
from the Korea University, South Korea.
Haruna has won several
international and local academic Award, and popular among them is the Best
Researcher from the Korea-Africa Future Strategy Center-Seoul.
In the next five years, Haruna
intend to become a Development Policy Analyst, a Technocrat working at the Federal
Government level to solve socio-economic problems by lifting millions of
Nigerian out of poverty line. In addition, his long term dreams is to become
Nigerian Ambassador to the United Nations projecting National interest, as well
as serve at the Federal Government Ministerial Cabinet.
His greatest strengths are
integrity, goal getter mentality, policy and programs analysis, providing solution
and honesty.
While his weaknesses are dislike
for working with lazy people, saboteurs and difficult people.
Haruna championed the design
and development of a new model for the Special Economic Zone/ Industrial
Clusters across the six geopolitical zones approved by the Federal Government.
He also served on the Technical Committee for the World Economic Forum on
Africa held in Abuja in 2014 to design the framework of engagement with the
Donot Agencies, International NGOs and the Civil Society Organizations.
Haruna is currently serving
as a member of the National Steering Committee for the implementation of the
Open Government Partnership to make government more open, transparent and
responsive to citizens.
His greatest weaknesses in
career pursuit is the high level of politriking in the public service, nepotism
amonth public officials, corruption, and high level of bureacracy that delays
the smooth operations of government activities
Haruna’s mentor is Professor
Tom Olali from the University of Nairobi-Kenya.
He wants people to remember
him as a great person with immense potentials to help humanity in meeting their
basic needs and become useful to their community.
He affirms that anyone aspiring for change must begins with himself or herself.His final comments is that everyone have the potential to achieve greatness in life and people should aspire to be the best they want to be.
