Joseph Nzeh holds a Bachelor of
Science Degree with specialisation in Biotechnology from
the University for
Development Studies, Tamale. With the ambition of agricultural advocacy, Joseph
finds himself attached to Green – Ef eco business village. A private
organisation which is challenged by increasing rural poverty, environmental
degradation, worsening climatic conditions, youth unemployment, structural
rural-urban migration and extreme food insecurity especially in the three
Northern Regions of Ghana. Joseph’s involvement in climate change campaigns
have offered him the platform of reaching out to several communities in the
Northern part of Ghana, where the effects of bush burning and consequences of
slash and burn system of farming have been shared with these communities. With
agricultural biotechnology background and committed to maximising agricultural
productivity through an eco- friendly approach, Joseph currently finds himself
in the High Quality Inoculant Production Laboratory of the Savannah
Agricultural Research Institute under the Council for scientific and industrial
research (CSIR-SARI) where he is fully involved in the production, marketing
and distribution of rhizobia inoculants which will diminish the effects
synthetic fertilizers pose on our environment. Joseph’s beliefs in giving back
to the society had made him offer voluntary services to organisations that sees
hope in our coming generation.
As an excellent team player Joseph is,
he is the shy type and this has had an effect on his public speaking, though,
this has no serious impact on his line of duty. In the coming years, Joseph
envisages Ghana’s agriculture to be occupied with youths and with Ghana’s
agricultural produce to be readily and widely accepted in the international
market.
