Ismail ALATISE is an environmental
management professional, specifically focusing on Waste Management,
Eco-Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change and Environmental Impact
Assessment, Education and Advocacy. A certified project manager, member of
International Project Management Professionals (IPMP) and Nigerian
Environmental Society (NES); who proficiently uses Microsoft Project
Professional 2016 for project management and ATLAS.ti software for both qualitative
and quantitative data analysis. Ismail currently serve as the managing director
of EcoQuest Systematic Limited (www.ecoquest.com.ng), Ibadan, Nigeria- an
Environmental and Project Management firm, which deals in waste management with
a vision to achieve a clean, eco-friendly and sustainable nation, while
utilizing waste materials resourcefully. He is an active member on social media
through his discerning and innovative environmental education, community
engagement and sustainable waste management updates on Facebook, Twitter
(@ecoquestgroup), and Blog accounts (www.ecoquestgroup.blogspot.com)
Having combined leadership with his
studies and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Voice of Geographers Press
Organization (VOG), University of Ibadan. Ismail ALATISE, finished as the best
graduating student in the department of Geography, University of Ibadan, with
several awarded prizes. He proceeded his education career with a scholarship
opportunity from the African Union (AU), at Pan-African University, Life and
Earth Sciences Institute, University of Ibadan where he had his masters degree
in Environmental Management. In the quest of furthering his expertise in his
chosen profession and performing his job effectively, Ismail attended Waste
Expo 2017 (conference and exhibition program) at New Orleans, Louisiana, in the
United States of America in May 2017. The largest waste recycling, and organics
tradeshow/conference in North America, where innovations, wealth of case
studies, research, latest equipment, insights and waste industry technological
trends were discussed and showcased. These wealth of knowledge and ideas gained
in the US, he intended to domesticate or apply locally to solve the daunting
problem of waste management in Ibadan.
His eagerness to make positive changes
in his environment, coupled with EcoQuest's corporate social responsibilities
and extension of her hands of fellowship to the people in society where she
operates, made EcoQuest to collaborate with Endonamoo Transformation Global
Initiative (ETGIN), a non-governmental organization in Ibadan. This, with the
aim of promoting environmental education, awareness, community engagement,
empowerment and participation in proffering effective management solutions to
waste and other environmental challenges in Ibadan; while contributing
philanthropically, through incentives and donation of relief materials to the
less privileged and victims of environmental disasters in Ibadan.
As a
young scholar with desirous attitude for learning, Ismail hopes to proceeding
his educational career to Doctor of Philosophy echelon and becoming one of the
technocrats in Africa that will proffer holistic solutions to the continent's
multifarious environmental challenges, in order to achieve a continent that
will be clean, eco-friendly and sustainable for present and future generations
alike. Although, EcoQuest is still young and growing in Ibadan, Nigeria; he
hopes to expand his work on an international scale to cross boundaries and
bring more holistic solutions in the near future.
